New York City

Sarah went to NYC with her former college roommate over St. Patrick's Day weekend. Despite the freezing cold and snowy weather, we had a blast! Joseph had a great time staying home with Daddy... and Grandma, and Grandpa and Aunt Rachel. He didn't even notice Mommy was gone!

New Tricks

Joseph has learned to stand on his own--and usually starts clapping for himself, which then throws him off balance. He also is walking along holding on to cabinets, chairs, etc. Joseph waves when someone waves at him or says "Bye" and claps anytime you say "Yeah, Joseph!" He isn't saying very much yet, but a few sounds that are precursors to words, "Mmmm" for Mom, "Dddd" for Daddy and "Bbbb" for ball. Just this weekend Daddy taught him to point. Joseph also likes to dance. Joseph bounces his legs and arms in the carseat to the music on the radio. He and Mommy dance to the radio in the kitchen when no one else is home. Joseph loves it!

Joseph and Mr. Bear

Joseph loves his "Mr. Bear" (Wow, creative name, Mom!) We love to see him cuddle the bear, patting its back and snuggling right into him.

Our Happy Guy

Joseph is tons of fun. Last week at our music class, we were singing the good-bye song. We go around the room and sing each child's name during the song. When we sang Joseph's name, he got a huge smile on his face and raised both his arms above his head in triumph.

Nap Strike!

One of the most common questions I am asked about Joseph: "Is he always this happy?" The answer is "YES" but there are few times when we have an unhappy baby--usually related to sleep (as evidenced in these pictures) where he screamed instead of napped. Whenever we have a battle of the wills, Joseph always seems to win.
