Our neighbor, Bob, is a great friend and an amazing person. Bob is friendly, involved in the neighborhood, and very generous. When we moved in, Bob had two Springer Spaniel dogs that Joseph loved to run along the fence with--and on special days, go over to Bob's yard and play with the dogs. Joseph experienced his first loss when one of the dogs, Marley, died last fall. A couple weeks ago, Bob visited us and brought Joseph a special present: a stuffed Springer Spaniel. I love this picture because it captures both of their personalities perfectly.
Joseph likes to run out in the driveway that we share with Bob to ask him how he is doing when he comes home, he asks about his health, his dogs, his work. It is pretty adorable. Bob also has a house in Canaan Valley, West Virginia, where he teaches skiing. Every time he comes home from West Virginia, he brings us a loaf of delicious Ciabatta bread from a gourmet bakery there in Canaan Valley. Joseph calls it "Bob bread."
