Happy 18th Hannah!

My sister Hannah turns 18 today!

I remember shopping for baby clothes before Hannah was born--we were anticipating her arrival long before her debut.  I remember going to the hospital to meet my new sister. I remember our best Thanksgiving ever was when Hannah first came home from the hospital. I remember studying in high school with little Hannah crawling around me--and I accidentally dropped a book on her--sorry! I remember people asking me if Hannah was my baby when I would take her places in public. I remember Hannah as a two-year-old on the phone talking to me when I was away at BYU; I was afraid she were going to forget me. I remember coming home for summers during college and taking Hannah to the pool and having movie nights where we would "vote" on the video. I remember asking Hannah's wise opinion about boys I brought home to meet the parents.

Aunt Hannah has been there from the start with my own little family. She came and helped when Joseph was born. She entertains my kids endlessly when we visit Missouri. She makes sure they get Cardinals baseball shirts and don't forget they have St. Louis roots. She tickles and wrestles and lets them listen endlessly to the "BEEP-beep-BEEP" CD she uses with her piano students.

Hannah is great fun and a blessing to our whole family. She helps us keep traditions and make new ones; she's fiercely loyal to her family. Hannah introduces me to new things like Silky's frozen custard flavors and Drop Dead Diva. She is always up for a road trip and has visited me in Utah, Blacksburg, and D.C.

Happy Birthday Hannah!  I love you and am so glad you're my sister and my children's aunt.

Happy Birthday Hannah!

What is your favorite memory of Hannah?

Happy Birthday, Hannah! There are too many good memories to share! (and many are too embarrassing for the internet, so I'll be nice!)

One thing that comes to mind was how we always had such a blast doing meals on wheels together and making up games. Hannah often wanted to get in and out of the car through the window like you see people on movies do when they hop out of their convertibles. haha.

I love you, Hannah!
